Project description

This project aim is to integrate new standards in end to end rights management in the current audiovisual market, in order to respond to the new and wide spectrum of uses of content in different environments. Some of the areas of work of the project can be summarized as follows:

  • Adoption and contribution to standards in
    • Digital object transactions
    • Content licensing
    • Content interchange architectures
    • In the way of representing, identifying, authenticating and certificating Intellectual Property (IP) and content
    • In the way of representing, identifying, authenticating and certificating users and user groups
  • Generation and use of metadata associated to content to facilitate distribution among several channels
  • Creation of services for contract monitoring and content usage and consumption
  • Creation of services for content licensing
  • Licensing associated to the user, allowing portability between different business products independently from the consumption device and the interchange means
  • Interoperability and support between different content business
  • Support to user transactions, both consumers and content creators

DMAG activity

Our activities inside this project involve several areas:

  • Definition of content metadata as well as the services needed to manage and search content based on the metadata defined
  • Definition of the content representation format
  • Definition of the protection and monitoring mechanisms to be used to inform about content usage and distribution
  • Definition of user authentication services
  • Definition and implementation of licensing mechanisms for the content interchanged
  • Definition of content registration services, combined with content representation
