Project description

MACHINE is a research project managed by Fundació i2CAT and developed in cooperation with three important catalan universities: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and Universitat Ramon Llull (URL). MACHINE is a multidisciplinary project divided in four Work Packages (WP) focused in different areas of expertise:

  • WP1.- OPTICAL NETWORKS
  • WP2.- APPLICATION
  • WP3.- VIDEOCONFERENCE
  • WP4.- SENSORS AD-HOC NETWORKS

DMAG activity

Our work inside this project comprises several activities inside WP2 (Application), including:

  • Definition and Implementation of an Architecture for Authentication, Authorisation and Auditing based on SAML v2.0
  • Definition of Secure Event reporting based on MPEG 21 Event Reporting
  • Definition and Implementation of licensing mechanisms including Adaptation of Digital Content based on MPEG 21 REL and DIA
  • Analysis of the application of MPEG 21 IPMP to the streaming of HD (High Definition) audiovisual content
