This project (DRM-MM: Digital Rights Management in MultiMedia e-services) is founded by the Ministerio de Educación y Cultura and participated only by the Distributed Multimedia Applications Group (DMAG). The aim of this project is to improve the research skills of the members of the group in the following areas:
- Definition of a modular architecture for the development of secure services for producing, managing and distributing multimedia content, respecting Intellectual Property (IP).
- Development of tools and solutions for: content protection, reporting and auditing, interoperability, electronic contract creation and rights lifecycle management.
- Generation of metadata suitable for the efficient search of multimedia content, based on the MPEG 7 standard. Implementation of tools that work over this metadata set.
- Application of content protection and, in general, DRM to solve problems like certificate management, electronic signature, key management, authentication, ciphering / deciphering, etc.
- Specification and implementation of two demonstrators. The first one, a digital rights editor, the second one, a prototype of a multimedia content distribution system.
